Sapphyre Miria, DAOM, LAc., Dipl. O.M. graduated with a BS in Biochemistry from Virginia Tech in 2005 and began working in healthcare. She quickly arrived at the conclusion that Western medicine is great for acute injuries and illnesses but not as helpful in curing chronic disease or maintaining healthy homeostasis. This observation left her feeling disillusioned with her career choice, so she shifted gears into organic vegetable seed farming. It was during her ten years as a farmer that she discovered her love of medicinal plants and began studying herbalism in all its forms. Eventually, this love of plants inspired her to return to healthcare but from a more holistic approach. She moved to the Bay Area from the East Coast 6 years ago to learn acupuncture and Chinese herbology at the Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Sciences in Oakland, CA , graduated and became licensed in 2022. She operates SoulFire Health & Help, her mobile acupuncture, herbal and tarot consultation practice while also treating patients at Contra Costa Acupuncture in San Pablo. Her love of learning led her to continue her education by pursuing her DAOM at ACCHS, which she will complete in August of 2024.
