I cropped this photo in stages and notice my impressions changing as I took out other features.
Each eyes looks different to me too. Is that a function of the quality of the lids and/or the light?

They look so different. The right eye seems to exude sadness. The left eye maybe fear.

The right eye looks soft with a downward direction and the left looks harder with maybe an outward direction.
Maybe not Saam applicable impressions but I am interested in the practice of noticing.
The face reading specialist Lillian Bridges says that the left side of the face shows the inner world and the right
shows more of the image of what you want to present to the world.

Interesting, I thought #2 was smiling by the crows feet at they eye corners. It said easy going guy to me.
I find this exercise challenging and am in admiration of Toby s clarity.

#2 is smiling. We are wired to read facial expressions a certain way. The tissues around the eyes look benevolent
for sure. But the eyes themselves are different. With this man, at first I questioned the eye color influencing the
impression of dull that I am getting.
All I am offering are my impressions as I start to look at eyes more closely.
Maybe at some point Toby can speak to some of the nuances of reading eyes. I am wondering how much of the lids
to edit out in this exercise because they definitely tell a story too.

Thanks for contributing to the game @maeveodon. It is fun to look at eyes from I am image that I didn t crop.
First of all the color- Wow- beautiful!
The eyes have different qualities: His right is clearer and more open with an outward intensity, but not necessarily
bright? His left is duller, maybe shielded?
This conversation has me wanting to differentiate dull/shielded/fear and aggressive/bright.
Any other impressions.
BTW: #1 is Bernie Madoff s mug shot. #2 is an official portrait of VP Mike Pence.
