I have been finding that it could take a good couple months of going back and forth between 2-3 archetypes in
order to see a real significant reduction in symptoms. If someone is really low on the ladder for one main organ and
low for two others so does it sound reasonable that the treatment would require just going back and forth and
tonifying these organs for a good couple of months until solid and lasting results can be seen?
For example, I have been treating a 12 year old boy since May for lower abdominal stomach aches that get worse
at night. The stomach aches come and go throughout the day but are worse in the evening/night and when he came
the pain was rated at an 8. His main treatments have been tonifying kid, st, and pc. It took me a couple of weeks to
arrive the the correct treatment but since then I have been alternating between these 3 organs, usually doing two in
a row and then switching. Occasionally I go back to one of the organs before going on to the next if his symptoms
point in that direction for that particular day. Since then his stomach aches have lessened in frequency and severity
and has even gone days without but they have not disappeared completely and he could have a flare up of a very
bad night. His tongue and pulse also show improvement and other symptoms have also reduced.
Do I just continue on the same treatment and expect that they will eventually disappear. Is this a normal course of
treatment – for the non miracle on the table cases? Or is there something that I need to correct in the treatment plan
(without necessarily getting into specifics).
And also – does the symptom of worse at night point us toward any specific archetype or does it completely depend
on the individual patient?

Yes. The 4 factors for determining treatment outcome are correct diagnosis, correct treatment, strength of the
patient and strength of the pathology. Really deficient patients and/or really strong pathology will go the slow
miracle route.
It sounds like you are guiding him in the right direction. I understand the frustration of wanting symptoms to
resolve more quickly. I have a couple of patients that either have strong pathology or are really deficient. Because
the treatment course is longer I have to keep reminding myself to look at them with fresh eyes at every treatment.
In my lesser moments it is sometimes too easy to toggle through tried and true treatments and miss something.

Worse as night by itself doesn t point to any particular channel excess. For a case of abdominal pain it makes me
wonder what aspect of the night might be aggravating. Is it that he is worse after eating all day or worse for not
moving around as much? The answers to these questions might add some weight to diagnosing.
