HI,
Toby taught us that for issues that appear mostly on the right side to tonify St on the left.
Can you explain more about this, why this is so and when to know that this is the appropriate treatment. Also – if
anyone has used this with success I would love to hear the case and learn from it.
THanks!

“The liver generates life on the left; the lung stores on the right” – Su Wen Chapter 52 (Unschuld)
Toby cites this in the class powerpoint as part of the teaching that symptoms that
Left hypochondriac region stuck and tight (consider supplementing Liver channel)
– Right hypochondriac region stuck and tight (consider supplementing Lung channel)
He then extrapolates that symptoms that only present on the left are an indication for Liv+ and symptoms that only
present on the right are an indication for Lung+.
A further extrapolation is that these side specific presentations can be an indication for treating the respective
counterbalancer as well.
The powerpoint contains the answers to many of these sorts of questions.
I hope this helps.

Right sided issues tend to be associated with the Lung, as Metal is related to sunset, and from the perspective of
Chinese geomancy, we are “sitting” in the north and facing south. So Metal is on the right.
Likewise Wood is the sprouting of new life and associated with sunrise, which again if we are facing south would
be on our left.
Deborah Woolf really gets into this and more in this Qiologician Episode.

Do you find that when there are many right sided issues that it most often needs LU+ on left or it really varies
between needing Lu + or St+ and each case is different?15/01/2024, 12:29Right sided issues – Qiological Community

I treat ST+ as often as I treat Lung+ for right sided issues.
