Interesting Combination of Humidity / Temperature Preferences . .

Just had a patient in clinic (51 year old woman) who
Loves Hot and Humid weather
Hates Hot and Dry weather
Loves Cold and Dry weather
Hates Cold and Humid weather
put that in your pipe and smoke it!

Just that she is so aware of the effects of climatic factors makes me wonder about SJ excess.

When I smoke on this, what I notice is that she’s happier when there is some balance in the weather. Heat (yang) is
a bit balanced by humid (yin) and Cold (yin) is a bit balanced by dry (yang – relatively). But when it is extreme, hot
AND dry, cold AND humid, she’s miserable.
Also, blowing another smoke ring here, “love” and “hate” are such strong words. She is not saying, “well I prefer it
when the weather is warmer and moister” No, she LOVES it. and she HATES the opposite.
I wonder, if you forgot about this conundrum, how would you diagnose her? Then if you go back and look at it,
how does it now make sense?

Great answers – thank you to you both!!
yes, and she did use the words ‘Love’ and ‘Hate’ with NO prompting.
I agree – they are strong words.12/01/2024, 12:21Interesting Combination of Humidity / Temperature Preferences . . – Qiological Community

well, it was one of those clinical pressure moments – you know, someone else is in the waiting room, someone is in
the treatment room – gotta sort this out fast!! eeeek.
She came in for two things
1. a wicked pain along the outer edge of her left foot running back and up to her ankle (had been on both feet,
but was now just on left). Initially thinking its UB channel but runs under a bit and could also be GB
channel.
2. recent ‘menopausal’ putting on of tremendous amounts of weight
other signs and symptoms
fatigue
bloating
bowel movements that are ‘toothepastey’ but not solid
flatulence
frequent daytime urination
insomnia
shortness of breath
high level of impatience – even with people talking too much
overall feeling her whole body is under pressure and pushing out everywhere (overinflated)
averse to light
very thirsty – dry mouth
In the end, I went for a PC supplementation
I felt GB excess was screaming at me the loudest
she got very relaxed
and when she got up, she said the foot pain was largely gone
Sharon – I like your possible ‘explanation’ for the temperature / humidity combination here a LOT
I’m gonna put that in my pipe and smoke on it a bit tonight
its an interesting contemplation!
My initial (with little time to think about it ) take on it was more ‘circulatory’ – that when its so cold, there is not as
much circulation and the effect of the dampness ‘invades’ her more
when it is warm / hot . . . . she has more circulation to ‘accommodate’ the humidity?
Kristin – well, she does say she is detail oriented – but I don’t think it comes to her ‘naturally’ – I think its more of a
constant effort to be who she wants to be. But her SJ-Liver picture is quite muddled – her eyes convey to me a
muddle of bright and dark – and she can be ‘polite’ on the surface but there is a deeper ‘rudeness’ there as well.
oh one other thing
two years ago, she bled very very much, almost hemorrhaged with wicked pelvic and back pain – and had a uterine
ablation surgery to stop it.
also, I know her from the community
she is very ‘new agey’ and is one of those people I find in that community, who put on a big show of love and light
but I can sense a very deep frustration and anger, even rage stewing just below the veneer and you just know they
are doing everything they can to manage that but its still very much there despite all their efforts.12/01/2024, 12:21Interesting Combination of Humidity / Temperature Preferences . . – Qiological Community

Symptoms…sometimes helpful, sometimes not.
Temperature often is an important aspect of diagnosis. The jumble of hot/cold, dry/wet does indeed make my head
spin and that’s without smoking anything.
The other symptoms also point to GB excess for me.
I’m curious to know if after some treatment in getting her GB to chill out a bit, if her sensitive to temperate might
shift.
