How Long Does a Sa’am Treatment Last?

Of course there’s no clear-cut answer and this depends on many factors, but I’m curious to hear others’ experiences
with how long their treatments are “holding.” I’ve had several cases now where there was clear-cut improvement
which, however, didn’t last more than a week. (Granted, my habit has been to switch between channels, and it does
strike me now that I should probably be doing the same channel twice in a row in some of these cases.)
A somewhat related question: should we consider treating bilaterally (e.g. double SP+ or double UB+) to be twice
as strong as treating unilaterally? When confident in our diagnosis, is there any reason not to treat bilaterally?

Such questions will be answered next weekend in the advanced class. Bilateral treatments are a special topic for the
class. I hope you will be joining us.

With each patient we are learning how to interact with their individual environment. There is so much variability.
For some patient repeat treatments are just what they need and others need another aspect of their condition
addressed to move them forward. Fresh evaluation of the patient at each visit seems to be the best way to go,
keeping in mind Toby’s guidelines about repeat treatments. Sorry I can’t be of more help.

Hi @jedwardian
Yes, you double down on the treatment when you’re confident of the diagnosis and if you think they need it.
Often I start with one channel as I want to see how a patient “metabolizes” the treatment.
As @KristinWisgirda points out this and more will be discussed at the Advanced Case Studies class coming up
next weekend.
Another thing to consider when you say the treatment “held” a week. Are there other methods you’ve used that
gave a longer time effect. And also, did the issue return to where it was, or simply that is slipped back but was still
improved from where they began. I’ve found it helpful to get specific details about how my patients are. “Better”
or “worse” is usually not that helpful. I want to know “how” they are better or worse. And what’s more. I want to
want know how they know that they know.
Finally, there is a balance of banging away on a channel until you get a change, and switching up from time to time
to keep the system ??, ling huo, lively and flexible. Just like working with herbs, there are times to stay the
course and times to switch it up.
Keep at it!! And keep us posted
