I am looking at the chart for supplementation points handed out during class and I am experiencing some
confusion. In the second column, there are listed channel ‘qualities’ for example . . . ‘Librarian’ for PC and ‘Tyson’
for GB. I understand these to be qualities of the channel in ‘Excess’ . . . Tyson being an exemplar of GB in Excess
for example, YET – this chart is a chart for supplementation – i.e. for when the channel is either Deficient clearly –
or its ‘other side of the coin’ is Excessive clearly . . . in other words, I would NOT do GB supplementation if Mike
Tyson presented himself (I would do PC supplementation) – yet this chart shows points for GB supplementation
with Tyson Qualities? Am I correct in feeling somewhat confused?

Hi Daniel, Nice “seeing” you in class!
How I look at the chart so it helps me be clear is to consider
these are the qualities I will bring to the person when I tonify this channel.
So PC + helps someone get more librarian-like, St + brings moisture out to skin from inside, etc. When I look at
the qualities this way it helps me stay clear.

The Qualities column shows the quality you’ll be adding to the body if you needle the four points in that row. IT IS
NOT A DIAGNOSIS COLUMN.
I wanted to avoid the TCM 2 step of:
1. Diagnosis: Sp Qi Deficiency04/01/2024, 12:13Chart Confusion – Sa’am Clinical Questions – Qiological Community

2. Treatment: Supplement Sp Qi
And go straight to the actual treatment, kinda like the Shang Han Lun’s jump straight from symptoms to herbal
formula.

I know this might be a big ask, but is this particular handout available somewhere for people that took the recorded
class? I noticed it’s not referenced anywhere on the St. Louis course page.
