16 y.o male with hyperhydrosis

Hello,
I just saw a 16 year old male who has been suffering with hyperhydrosis for the past 3 years. Western medical
doctors have recommended medication, his parents are not so keen on the idea. He is tall and gangly, pale. His
pulses were remarkably deficient on both sides. The left hand side lacked blood volume. The most deficient were
the lung, spleen and liver. I asked about his digestion and he said for a few years he used to have a lot of digestive
issues including reflux. He said it isn’t so bad now. His tongue is mildly peeled on both sides. Sublingual veins
very engorged and dark. He runs hot all the time. The sweating pattern includes not only hands and feet but his
entire torso from the neck down. Distribution even on the front and back. Not as bad on the legs. He easily engaged
to answer questions thoughtfully, but not a big talker. He goes to a demanding private school and when school is in
session only gets about 5 hrs of sleep nightly. He admits feeling tired a lot. He seems to carry stress and worry
about being a Junior and having to make choices about college and career. There is no patterning to the episodes of
sweating other than night time and sleeping is not a time he usually sweats. The excessive sweating embarrasses
him.
I treated the lung as my first try seeing if I could effect the wet/dry axis and working with the lungs as controlling
the waterways. he stated he felt a little bit cooler on completion of the treatment and wasn’t a fan of Lung 10
needling!
The pulses filled up really nice. Would love anybody’s feedback and suggestions before I see him again next week

Well if this is not an exemplary case of dry on the inside and wet on the outside I don’t know what is!
I’ll be curious to see how the last treatment unfolded for him. And if it was positive then I’d consider going +LU
again. Of course, no one likes HT8 or LU10. But the temporary discomfort should be worth it.
As to being hot, you can also consider +UB. The cold of Taiyang will help to cool him, and it could as well with
regulation of the water pathways. Also consider that UB is opposite LU on the clock. So it carries some of the
resonance of LU in a counterbalanced way.

I also considered UB for the cold features just was feeling uncertain about the wetness aspect, so I just went with
lung. Thank you very much!

Thanks for the case and welcome to the forum.
Would you please consider letting us know what your Saam education has included so far? Have you taken any
classes? It would help to know what kind of resources you have.
Please consider taking a look at the case study format proposal that is pinned to the top of the forum in the blue
box. Using the format will help you organize your information, especially the section where you correlate patient
symptoms and qualities with channel excesses. The case format also makes it easier on your readers and tells them
that you have considered all the channel pairings.
The case, as you have presented it, has some clues to other possible treatments that you have yet to mentioned. I
am hoping that you will see them if you use the case format.

I am in Sharon Weizenbaum’s GMP class. She introduced us to SAAM. I have listened to all the podcasts multiple
times. I am waiting for the online stream from St. Louis to become available. As soon as I have a bit more time, I
can try to fit this case into the format you have requested. Today was the first clinical encounter with this patient.
Thank you
