Healing Crisis?

Another SAAM big shift. This patient came in yesterday. This was the third time I’ve seen her. She came in very
bloated with water weight, especially in the torso and face. I treated Large Intestine on the right. She felt relaxed
during the treatment and reported movement in her belly. This morning I got this email:
*Wow I had quite the experience and just wanted to share. My intestines were “jumping” kind of like spasms but
cooler haha, and the chi was moving all day / night. It reminded me of when I was pregnant and could feel
Saraphina moving and kicking. It was a super nice memory to re-live :). Anyway it got really intense and almost
painful at times, but I knew what was happening and embraced it. I also had intense joint pain and achiness, as if
sick, and I sat with that too. That was a challenge for me, especially at night but I did great. This morning I had a
really nice big normal bowel movement and wow my entire abdomen is SOFT!! with no bloat! I didn’t even realize
just HOW bloated / distended and hard my belly really was until this morning. I’m thrilled!! So let’s keep doing
that! Haha. *
Thank YOU so much, I feel amazing, and enjoyed every moment of that healing process.
This showed me that there can be a healing crisis when the treatment is strong. I wonder what other’s thoughts are
about this.

Thanks for sharing this @sweiz. It is so helpful to know that such a reaction to an obviously correct treatment is a
possibility.
I am wondering if there is any relationship to the overall constitution of this patient and the intensity of her body’s
reaction. Perhaps we might expect a patient with vigorous resources to be able to engage the treatment more
strongly. This patient doesn’t sound like a shrinking violet at all!

Thank you @sweiz for sharing. It feels good to receive feedback like that!

Thanks for this @sweiz, I too think that healing crisis can occur, but we have to be very strict with ourselves and
be able to differentiate them from mistreatment. Usually with a healing crisis the patient will have things “fall
apart” but when the “come together” later it is at a whole different level of wellbeing. Like with this patient.
The really interesting thing for me is this:

She enjoyed every moment. That really caught my attention. And I suspect something to watch for with a healing
crisis. How was the patient with the process?
