I also have two observations and I would like to compare them with your experience.
1. I noticed in the bath or shower with hot water, that when I get out, the median line from the sternum to the
navel is red (it’s not strong), while the rest of the skin has a normal color. I was thinking if it could be a
symptom of HT+, especially since there is also tachycardia (increased heart rate).
2. From my experience, I have noticed in many patients who have Spleen Qi Deficiency (fatigue, fat
accumulation, sweating, water retention, teeth marks on the tongue, tendency to sit down or work from a
sitting position…) , as most of the symptoms coincide with SP+. Here I have a small internal conflict
between Spleen Qi Deficiency and SP+.
And please help me to understand if it is correct or not, it may be a coincidence or my observation may be
correct.
Thank you!

Hi Florin
Thank you for posting.

Of course we do not want to take any symptoms on its own and need to look at the entire picture. If someone told
me what you experience I would put a little ‘tic’ in my the Heart excess checkbox. (You said HT+ but I like the
nomenclature that a “+” plus after a channel we are supplementing it. So in the case you gave it would be BL+
supplementation). So from that we cannot say for sure it is Heart excess, we need to look for other observations
and compare.

Ahh you are confusing SP+ which means supplementing as I wrote above. In the example you describe it is clearly
a supplement LI+ channel.05/01/2024, 11:24Two observations (HT+, SP+) – Qiological Community

I hope that clears things up.

SP+ and HT+ I wanted to say excess SP and excess HT, I expressed myself incorrectly

The correct question would be if the symptoms of Spleen Qi Deficiency correspond to Spleen Excess in SAAM?
George_Mandler: January 24, 2023, 2:37am
Ahh sorry I misunderstood.
Yes in general what we would consider SP Qi deficiency in ZangFu diagnosis to be SP excess. In general. Not
always. Certainly the heavy, damp, sweet craving we woudl think SP excess.
But let’s say someone has bloating, gas, but is dry and thin and cold. It may be possible we consider SP Qi
deficiency in ZangFu but in Sa’am we want to supplement SP+.
So stick with the archetype jewels that Toby presents in the initial (and subsequent) classes.

Thank you!
I have another question, can tinnitus be considered a symptom of SJ excess?

Tinnitus can be SJ excess.
It can also be05/01/2024, 11:24Two observations (HT+, SP+) – Qiological Community

LR excess, SI excess, KD excess, GB excess, LI excess, SP excess, HT excess…
Meaning it can be anything. Look at the entire patient presentation based on the archetypal characteristics.
I have not had good sucess with tinnitus. If others have successful Saam cases I think we’d be all ears.

Pun intended!

There was a Sa’am practitioner who sent ten different puns to colleagues, with the hope that at least one of the puns
would make them laugh. Unfortunately, no pun in ten did.
