Attention to Detail

HI,
I have seen in clients who otherwise seem affected by their environment in an emotional sense and thereby seem Sj
excess to not care whether their physical environment in messy or neat.
One client in particular is a social worker and is very empathic and feels what others feel. She also was very
affected by her parents constant arguing and screaming but she does not care if her personal space is messy or
clean. On the one hand there is strong external focus and on the other there is not. This seems to be a mixed picture
but I wonder if there is any room to allow a SJ excess to not care about the physical environment while being
overly sensitive to the emotional environment.
Have you seen that combination and still supplemented Liv with good results?
Her whole Liv/Sj breakdown is as follows:
SJ Bright eyes 7+ arms loose flesh 7+ attention to emotional detail 7+ blood def. 6+ bright light and noise give her
migraines 8+ less migraines in winter 7+ polite 7+ self critical 7+
Liv does not mind mess 6+ body feels heavy 7+ legs dense flesh 3+

Hi Adina

So many of the pairs are a mix aren t they!?.
See what is most needed on that day From what you list she seems more SJ excess if this is the biggest delta
between channel pairs that you see (on that day) then it seems quite reasonable to supplement LR+ and you should
see positive results.
Not minding a mess around them can suggest a lack of awareness but maybe it is just not as important to them or
somehow a coping mechanism of her parents arguing in childhood. Teasing out the mixed presentations is what
keeps clinic interesting.05/01/2024, 11:19Attention to Detail – Qiological Community

SO you are saying that you don t rule out using Liv+ if someone is not as aware of their environment as we would
expect from a SJ excess?
You would think a true SJ excess would not be able to tolerate mess around them because they are so attuned to
their environment.
I have another client who has many SJ excess qualities but loves light and hates the dark
I think that Toby said that he would look for another channel imbalance with mixed pairs but the other qualities are
SO SJ excess so its hard to fully let go of tonifying liver

In general, I would not rule out the use of a channel based on a single characteristic.

Mess surrounding people could also potentially be seen as being unkept. Think SI excess perhaps.

I have definitely supplemented LR+ in folks that do like sunshine but have lots of SJ excess signs. (I doubt they
hated the dark, just liked sunshine)

This reminds me of someone I know very well. Eyes like stars, does not clean, does well with LV+. Had to reverse
SJ+ the one time I tried it. I think in her case not cleaning might come from early anti-gender role training. She got
into Marie Kondo for a minute it s all or nothing. There could also be some SI and ST excess in the mix.

hi @Adina_Kletzel , how do you know that she doesn t mind the mess? does she specifically say she doesn t care?
if so what does that mean – does she not NOTICE it or is she just too busy to deal with it, and has learned to live
with it?
have you seen her environment? is it actually messy or is it just her interpretation of messy ?
It s possible that she does care, but her controlling aspect is so strong that she s able to compartmentalize the mess,
maybe other things about her environment take higher priority.
I would not use this one characteristic as for-sure diagnosis of LV excess.

hi @Adina_Kletzel . I have often wondered about this same mechanism in my patients. Are they messy because
they are oblivious to it? Or because they are overwhelmed? Or some other reason? I know for myself, I often
struggle to clean up messes because I focus on every detail and get flooded with the memories attached to each
thing, so I am unable to make cleaning progress quickly. I have trouble unfocusing on other objects in order to
deal with just one at a time. I ve supplemented LR on myself before to help me clean or organize because I get less
obessed over each object if my mind is relaxed.
