Hi Toby, Kristin and everyone,
Glad to have found my way here and to help kick off discussions in this new space.
I have a question about assessing the medial heel. I'd been focusing on the area posterior to the medial malleolus (so around KD 3), until I gathered recently from a photo in Toby's book that the medial heel area in question should perhaps be understood as closer to where the 'red' and 'white' skin meet, i.e. several cun inferior to KD 3. How broad of an area are we talking about? And do we count cracks on the 'red' skin of the heel (which is more often dry and cracked than the superior part)?
Thanks, Jonathan
Hi Jonathan,
Sorry for the late reply. I was away from the keyboard for a couple of days and we're just getting this site up and running.
<How broad of an area are we talking about?>
I think the picture in the book captures it well.
<And do we count cracks on the 'red' skin of the heel (which is more often dry and cracked than the superior part)?>
This area has less clinical weight but you could still consider it.
Hope all is well,
T
