Confusing neuropathic pain case

Hi, ive been seeing a patient of 31 yo, he cut his thomb at work last year and since then, he has been having severe stabbing pains, throbbing at times, doesn’t feel hot or cold really well. The distal phalanx feels locked (mostly fear) and he cannot bend it. Touching his scar feels painful and scary. Surgeon looked after theh surgery and didn’t see traces of nerve damage, and suspects central nervous system issues. He talks very fast, is hot, slim and a bit SI+ (looks disheveled, and doesn’t take care of himself). I tried many things without much success until he told me he couldn’t feel the heat and cold. That and fear, disfunction led me to do a Ht+ treatment and with the needles, he was able to touch the scar without pain, it felt like a huge breakthrough. Pain came back pretty soon after. Did it again, same thing. Then did Xinbao+ because he is really stressed and hot, didn’t want to overdo Ht and it did the same with Xinbao, we were even able to bend his thumb (i did it) and the fear kicked in way later than usual. Since then, so dark bruises appeared so i did SI+ and no difference. I did Xinbao again today and i was able to bend his thumb further and he was fighting it less. Any other ideas? Thanks!

Any significant gap between his Lung and Stomach channels?

Not so much, he doesn't have any breathing issues, or 'rising' kind of digestive issues, he is thin but doesn't have oily skin. It's not dry though, so maybe i could investigate further. His energy doesn't seem depleted but frantic because it's not grounded, he doesn't sleep well and doesn't really know how to relax. When i asked him what he does outside of work, what he likes, he wasn't able to answer me, he doesn't really like anything other than working and making money. At the moment he doesn't have so much money though because he isn't working full time because of his injury. If I had to pick one, i'd say he's more of a St+ than Lu+, he doesn't seem well resourced in general in terms of emotions or self-knowledge (if that makes sense?).

Definitely consider supplementing Lu with this presentation.

I had done it in the past without success, now today, it did the same. No sensation touching the scar or the thumb, i was able to bend it totally without him fighting until the end, and more exciting, he was also to move the phalanx himself a little bit by pressing on his thumb so that he has resistance. So i guess maybe i needed to do ht+ before so he is less scared and it eases the nerve sensations before lu+ could help? Thank you!
