I seem to remember either Kristin or Toby mentioning that a certain channel could potentially resolve a pathogen by causing a patient to vomit, but that they personally had not come across this. I can’t find it in my notes and can’t remember what they said exactly (or if I imagined the whole thing). I ask because I treated a patient last week with HT+, and she responded well (all her symptoms resolved, settled really well, etc.) and 2 days later vomited clear watery fluids 3 x out of the blue. (After that some facial puffiness completely resolved, but only for one day.). I think it was due to the treatment and just curious to see if this was the thing I remember being mentioned, or just idiosyncratic to her body.
Thank you!
Hi Ann,
There is no special channel that can reliably induce vomiting. However, the most likely channel to cause vomiting would be supplementing Lu, followed closely by supplementing Sp, because these channels both ascend. In your case, the vomiting may be due to the hyper-functioning quality of supplementing Ht.
Hope all is well,
T
Thank you, Toby! I had also thought of it as her expelling cold water thanks to the double heat of the heart (and slight drying capacity). She has been puffy.
